About

Ian Anderson was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank (Taiwan) Limited in January 2021. In his current role, Ian is responsible for the Bank’s business in Taiwan.

Prior to assuming his role in Taiwan, Ian was the Global Head of Enterprise Risk Management and Retail Risk based in Singapore. He joined Standard Chartered Bank in 2014 and has since held a variety of leadership roles in risk as well as experience managing some of the Bank’s largest markets across its network.

Ian has over 20 years of banking experience in portfolio management, leverage finance, restructuring and advisory, having worked for financial institutions and consultancy firms including Morgan Stanley, Royal Bank of Canada, Citi in Hong Kong and Price Waterhouse.

Ian holds a MA degree in international banking & finance from University of Reading in the UK.

Contribution to the Chamber

Ian has been heavily involved in the BCCT since his arrival in Jan 2021. He has passionately volunteered his time to support development of our members through mentorship programmes and has also generously shared his own personal experiences and growth journey. Ian is also having a keen focus on sustainability and has been an avid supporter in delivering insights and thought leadership in this area- especially on topics such as climate risk, ESG and the journey to net zero.
